Hope Springs

Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones play Kay and Arnold who have been married 31 years, and their marriage has grown stale and fallen into a lackluster routine of no sex and bacon eggs each morning. Kay is willing to seek help and pre-pays $4,000.00 from her savings for a week of intensive therapy with Dr. Feld (Steve Carell), but Arnold is not buying it and initially refuses to participate.

If you are having pangs to reminisce the old times when you could watch nonstop sci-fi action when the hunky guy kills hundreds and the inept soldiers with automatic weapons cannot land one lethal blow on the hunky hero, then this movie might be for you.

Ice Age: Continental Drift
Movie Review | By Larry H | July 16, 2012
The story is simple and sweet: during the Ice Age, there was a drift of the continents and some of our beloved animals became separated which can be very sad. This cataclysmic event, the remainder of the movie is dedicated to the attempt to reunite the animals by using a small iceberg as a ship. How cute is that?

Rock Of Ages
Movie Review | By Larry H | June 18, 2012
It is funny and fun in a “Rocky Horror Picture Show” kind of way. All characters are straight out of central casting and the costumes and hairdos reinforce the silliness and over-the-top caricatures of the 1980’s Hollywood-era Rock and Roll culture of sex, drugs, and more booze.

There are many excellent
reasons to embrace “Port
Mortuary” (Putnam,
$27.95), Patricia Cornwell’s 18th
adventure built around medical
examiner Kay Scarpetta, but none
more elemental than her return to
Kay as first-person narrator.
